3 Bombs for Chance Santry
Saturday, April 29th, 2023
Chance Santry of the Connecticut Huskies had a lot to celebrate in today's 7-6 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions. Three times he celebrated by pounding the ball out of J.O. Christian Field.

He kiddingly told reporters after the game, "Hopefully, I can continue to close my eyes and swing as hard as I can. It worked well today."

The powerful Connecticut right fielder tagged 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 5 runs and scored 3 times in his three-homer outburst.

Santry added, "Seriously, I just try to swing early and often to give myself a chance. I let the pitcher supply all the power, I just try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball."

"We talked about changing our strategy for the third one ... and then he hit another homer," the Penn State manager said. "We just couldn't get him out."

Chance Santry hit a solo-shot off Kel Rosewarne in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Kel Rosewarne in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off John Miller in the 6th and walked in the 8th.

Looking at his present stats, Santry has compiled a .368 batting average in 19 games with a .444 on-base percentage, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 15 runs.
