Great Day for Stevens -- 5 Hits Saturday, April 29th, 2023 Tennessee catcher Robert Stevens put on quite a show at Lindsey Nelson Stadium with a big 5-hit day. But all for naught. The Volunteers were beaten 11-6 by the Georgia Bulldogs. In the postgame interview he said, "The team didn't do too well today, but it was a good one for me, at least at the plate. Wish I could do this more often. It would do wonders for my batting average ... and my salary, too. But I could do without the losing." Robert Stevens doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Salvador Pérez in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Stevens is hitting at a .500 mark this season. His stats show 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has played 8 games for the Volunteers. |
