5-for-5 Day for Ayala Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 Minnesota left fielder Esteban Ayala really lit up the Stanford Cardinal with a 5-hit barrage today at Siebert Field -- a performance that sparked the Golden Gophers to a 13-2 triumph. He shrugged off the performance after the game and said, "Sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes." Esteban Ayala hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Pike in the 5th and singled in the 8th. This year Ayala is hitting .333, produced 18 RBIs and 5 home runs, scored 21 times and gotten on base at a .438 rate. |
