Salazar Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 24
Saturday, May 4th, 2024
Ricardo Salazar saw his 24-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Ducks 14-7 victory over Virginia at PK Park. The 21-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by Cavaliers, but his Oregon teammates produced enough offense to garner the win.

Talking to reporters after the game, Salazar was upbeat. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit. How could you be unhappy after you have hit in 24 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. And I am really happy that we won another ballgame today. Life is good."

This year Salazar is hitting at a .463 pace with 4 home runs and 30 RBIs. He has played in 30 games and scored 25 times.
