Castro Strokes 3 HR Against Kentucky
Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024
Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often. When it does it is something special to celebrate. And Felipe Castro of Boston College can celebrate it. He is now a member of the select group of players, who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands today at Shea Field against the Kentucky Wildcats.
In all he was 3-for-3 as the Eagles toppled Kentucky 7-6, knocking in 3 runs and scoring 4 times.
Castro told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one."
His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air."
Felipe Castro hit a solo-shot off Gilbert Barker in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Gilbert Barker in the 4th, walked in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Arturo Vásquez in the 10th.
This year Castro has hit at a .260 clip with 20 hits, 7 home runs, 17 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
