Hit Parade: Mason Pops 5 Hits Friday, April 19th, 2024 Jeff Mason of the Boilermakers was unstoppable in today's 13-4 victory over the Kansas State Wildcats at Tointon Family Stadium. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Purdue third baseman after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will." Jeff Mason doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Mason is swinging at a .224 pace on the year with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has played in 18 games. |
