Gentry 5-for-5 Against Texas Tech Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Jerry Gentry -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Cliff Hagan Stadium and paced the Wildcats to a 13-3 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. After his dynamite batting performance the Kentucky center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Jerry Gentry singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th. So far this season Gentry has no home runs and a .267 batting average. |
