O'Brien Goes Deep 3 Times Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024 Mike O'Brien, first baseman for the Louisiana State Tigers, had a whale of a game, rocketing three balls out of Alex Box Stadium against the Minnesota Golden Gophers today in their 10-4 victory. After the game he said, "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them. The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves... all three were mistakes." For the game O'Brien was 4-for-5 with 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored. O'Brien added, "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives. Today I found the home run stroke." Mike O'Brien hit a two-run home run off Dave Johnson in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Chad Bolden in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Ron Roach in the 8th. |
