Monday, November 11th, 2024
The Virginia Cavaliers were jolted today by some terrible news -- Bill Ward's baseball career has come to an end as the result of another setback while recovering from shoulder inflammation. The club's GM told reporters, "We were all stunned. Injuries are a part of the game, but you never get used to this kind of devastating news. It is truly a sad day for both Bill and the entire Cavaliers organization."

On his career ledger Ward has a 5-4 record with a 8.08 ERA. In 25 games he has recorded 2 saves and the 20-year-old has 48 strikeouts in 59 innings of work.
