Peck Comeback Not Possible, Injury Too Severe
Saturday, October 12th, 2024
Dave Peck's baseball career is hanging in the balance. After extensive rehabilitation to repair a bone spur in his elbow, disaster struck. The Purdue reliever tripped over an outfield tarpaulin while chasing a foul ball prior to the game and reinjured himself, causing what his doctors say is "catastrophic damage." Speaking with reporters, his manager said, "Dave is in a state of disbelief. He has come so far in his recovery, and this was a total shock. A quirky accident that might have cost him his career."
The 22-year-old Peck has 30 appearances so far in his career and has thrown 142.1 innings with 140 strikeouts and no saves. His won-lost record is 5-13 and his ERA stands at 4.93.
