Big Day for Espinoza: Swats 6 Hits Tuesday, August 27th, 2024 On top of the Surrey hit parade today was Javier Espinoza. He went to the plate 8 times and marched away with 6 hits, sparking the Sinners to a 13-11 victory over the Eau Claire Esquires. The sweet swinging second baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Esquires wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Javier Espinoza grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, walked in the 12th, struck out in the 15th and hit an RBI single in the 16th. To date Espinoza has chalked up a .301 average with 5 home runs, driven in 26 runs and scored 20 times. |
