Appalachian League Winner is Torrez Monday, July 1st, 2024 When it came to hitting the baseball, Aurelio Torrez had few peers in the Appalachian League this past week. The talented left fielder for Athens tagged opposing pitchers for a .435 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 10 hits in 23 at-bats, 3 homers, 9 runs scored and 11 RBIs. Currently Torrez is hitting .313 and has collected 16 home runs, 72 RBIs and scored 64 times, while playing in 81 games. |
