James on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Pensacola Thursday, June 27th, 2024 Joel James told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what James of the Detroit Dirty Snow did against the Pensacola Pilots. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Pilots, who suffered a 13-6 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Joel James walked in the 1st, singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season James has hit at a .272 clip with 15 RBIs, 2 home runs and 21 runs scored. He has played in 48 games. |
