Sanford Crushes 3 Homers Against Wisconsin Rapids
Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024
Plumstead second baseman Donald Sanford sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Sanford predicted he would hit a home run against the Wisconsin Rapids Rangers.
During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Eagles over the Rangers 14-6.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Sanford told reporters after the game.
To go along with the homers, he collected 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
Donald Sanford grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Don Briggs in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jorge Flores in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Steve Alexander in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
Thus far this year Sanford is batting .281 with 6 home runs, 27 RBIs and 33 runs scored.
