Lee's Summit Hurler Wins MSL Outstanding Hitter Award Monday, October 14th, 2024 Fans of the Lee's Summit Tigers are hoping there are many more awards to come for their talented ace, Reid Mapstone. At the age of only 22, the star pitcher has been named the Midwest League Outstanding Hitter Award winner for 2024. "We knew Mapstone was a special player, but I don't think anyone expected him to get this good, this fast," the Lee's Summit manager said. Mapstone's dominant season saw him throw 185.1 innings, with a 1.94 ERA and .200 opponent's batting average. He had a record of 15-4 through 32 starts and compiled a 5.8 WAR along the way. Ricardo Marino of the Erie Jaxx finished second in voting, while Ed Watkins of the Lee's Summit Tigers finished third. |
