Red-Hot Reyes Scorches Bulldogs
Monday, August 5th, 2024
It was a hits blitz for Juan Reyes at Newark Recreational Ballpark.
The Butler White Sox shortstop tore into Newark for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace the White Sox to a 16-6 victory and to put up a career day.
The manager for the Bulldogs bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Reyes, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."
Juan Reyes singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, walked in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
For the season Reyes has hit .448 with no home runs and 7 RBIs. He has played in 7 games and scored 7 times.
