SP Joe Hazelwood Hurt
Tuesday, July 16th, 2024
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Joe Hazelwood of the Iguanas knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Penquannock Overrated Jeter while throwing a pitch. Because of a fractured elbow, the Kingston starting pitcher is expected to miss 4 months. Hazelwood was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
Thus far this season, Hazelwood has worked 101 innings with 66 strikeouts en route to a 3-13 record and a 6.06 ERA.
