Marshall Collects Cycle
Tuesday, June 25th, 2024
It was a quite a day for Nick Marshall at Newark Recreational Ballpark! He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is in a baseball game -- single, double, triple and a home run. The Newark first baseman accomplished the rare feat during his team's 13-7 victory over the Wilmington Rebels.
He told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference, "I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it. The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it is the 4 hits and the win that are important. But I guess it will be nice to see my name in the record book."
Marshall went 4-for-5 in the game with 4 runs batted in and 3 runs scored.
Nick Marshall doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Alex Stanford in the 7th.
To date, Marshall has collected 74 hits for a .291 average. He has posted 11 home runs, scored 53 runs and driven in 37 runs.
