Dominant Years Win O'Neal ESL Outstanding Hitter Award

He's only 22 years old, but Gene O'Neal of the Rio Grande Rattlesnake has clearly established himself as a star of Eastern League.
His status grew today as the ace pitcher was named the winner of the 2024 Eastern League Outstanding Hitter Award.
"I just want to pitch well and win games," he said. "The awards are nice though."
O'Neal's award-winning season saw him put up a 20-9 record through 33 starts, throwing 212 innings. He had 180 strikeouts with 70 walks and a 2.76 ERA. Opponents hit only .225 against him during the season.
Lorenzo Aguilar of the Rio Grande Rattlesnake finished second in voting, while Nathan Seymour of the Reading Rainbows finished third.
