Buffalo's Skerratt Shines, Shuts out Butler
Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024
Before the game Clarence Skerratt liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the LightSabres pitcher whitewashed the Butler White Sox 7-0.
Skerratt said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."
The Buffalo starter held Butler scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 9 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," the White Sox manager said in his postgame interview.
"When that happens, you usually lose."
Skerratt has fashioned a 11-12 mark for the season, 3.66 ERA and thrown 224 innings in 38 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .244 against him.
