Taváres Rips Gainesville for 5 Hits
Wednesday, May 15th, 2024
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Norberto Taváres of the Wichita Wranglers. He tore up the Gainesville Guidos to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the Wichita 5-4 win today at The Guido Ghetto. "Taváres was a tough out today," the Gainesville manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Norberto Taváres singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
So far this year Taváres has 2 home runs and a .310 batting average.
