Henderson Tags Blues for 5 Hits
Monday, May 6th, 2024
It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Dave Henderson -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Wrangler Stadium and paced the Wranglers to a 16-3 win over the Memphis Blues. After his dynamite batting performance the Wichita second baseman told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Dave Henderson singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
In 32 games this season Henderson has compiled a .318 batting average with 35 hits and 1 home run. He has also scored 24 times and knocked in 21 runs.
