Garza Holds Moose Jaw Scoreless
Saturday, August 3rd, 2024
Juan Garza of the Riverside Red Bulls was on top of his game today. He tantalized the Moose Jaw Ghostbusters with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 6-0 shutout.
In the postgame comments, the Moose Jaw skipper said, "He had the changeup working. You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Riverside hurler had 8 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 4 hits in his complete-game effort.
Garza told reporters after the game, "To be successful in this league, you have to keep the ball down. If you don't, they'll make you pay."
This season Garza has been credited with no saves in no relief appearances. In 126.1 innings he has a 8-13 won-lost mark, 6.91 ERA and 111 strikeouts
