Nelson Peña Bashes Three over the Wall Sunday, June 16th, 2024 Nelson Peña went on a hitting rampage at Roger Maris Field today and got membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He walloped three into the stands to pace the Border Guards to a 15-3 victory over the Menlo Maniacs. The Bismark right fielder collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 4 runs. After his three-home run game he said this to the press: "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too." Nelson Peña struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ron Russell in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Ron Russell in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off José Acosta in the 7th. On the year Peña is hitting .253 with 57 hits, 16 home runs, 47 RBIs, .382 OBP and has scored 44 runs. |
