Hits Galore: Berroa Drills 5 Hits Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Balzac's José Berroa had a very special day against the Wranglers when everything came together for him. He really swung the bat with authority, getting 5 hits in 5 at-bats. However, it was Red Deer that picked up the victory. They topped the Rams 9-8 at Wrangler Field. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Berroa said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but the loss kinda put a damper on the day." Disappointed or not, he still gets his name written in the record books. José Berroa doubled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Paul Barton in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Looking at his season stats, Berroa has compiled a .366 batting average and a .460 on-base percentage, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 7 runs. |
