Injury Takes Toll, Pedro Valdés Out Friday, August 9th, 2024 It took the District 9 team doctor a while to realize it, but reliever Pedro Valdés won't simply play through shoulder inflammation after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Vipers-Prawns game. At first, it looked like Valdés might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 6-7 months. To this point in the season, Valdés has put up these figures: 7-10 record, 15 relief appearances with 124.1 innings, no saves, 80 strikeouts, 93 walks and a 8.90 ERA. He has limited other teams to a .337 batting average. |
