Missions Halt Salas's Hit Streak Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 Santa Monica triumphed over San Jose today 3-2. However, that was not the whole story. Bruins second baseman Salvador Salas failed to get a hit for the first time in 24 games. Salas went hitless in 2 at-bats and had his streak broken. Commenting to reporters at his press conference, he said, "Some days the past few weeks I carried the club, today they carried me. No matter what, it is always good to win a ballgame." To date, Salas has collected 70 hits for a .380 average. He has posted 10 home runs, scored 35 runs and driven in 47 runs. |
