King of the Hill Announced by Pacific Coast League
Friday, October 18th, 2024
As improbable as it might seem, a reliever can win the Outstanding Pitcher Award, Pacific Coast League's top pitching honor. Kosami Tagawa proved it today as the Lansing bullpen ace earned the Pacific Coast League award after a remarkable season.
He posted an ERA of 2.71 with 8 wins, 4 losses, and 21 saves in 69 relief appearances. Over 109.2 innings he struck out 169, allowed 45 walks and held opposing hitters to a .160 batting average.
Sloan Otto of the Santa Monica Bruins finished second in voting, while Manabu Mizuno of the Lansing Lugnuts finished third.
