Bright Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Saturday, August 31st, 2024 "It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Redwood City right fielder Patrick Bright said to BNN reporters after his fantastic 5-for-5 day against the Vancouver Vipers. "I got some good counts and used the whole field." However, his sensational day wasn't enough. The Vipers won the ballgame 9-8. The disappointed Bright said to reporters, "I guess you can't always have it all." He added, tongue in cheek, "I guess it's better to go 5 for 5 and lose than it is to go 0 for 5 and lose." Patrick Bright hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Malcolm Moore in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this year Bright is batting .306 with 31 home runs, 105 RBIs and 94 runs scored. |
