Wednesday, July 31st, 2024
The Cape Cod Clams will lose the services of closer Dave Adams after he sustained a torn labrum while throwing a pitch in today's game against the Allentown Hillbillies. "I'll get through it," Adams said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for 11 months.
Adams has 16 saves this year. In 36 relief appearances he has tossed 40 innings, fanned 39, and given up 17 walks with a 5-6 record. The Cape Cod reliever has recorded a 4.05 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .265 when he is on the mound.
