Big Day with Bat: Larson 7-for-7 Wednesday, May 15th, 2024 7 hits in 7 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Patrick Larson of the Portland Privateers had a sensational game against Trenton at East End Park. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark, but it didn't pay off in a victory. The Stars took the game 12-9. In the postgame press conference Larson joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me, and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off. Right, Skip?" His manager retorted half-smilingly, "Only if we win the game, son ... only if we win the ballgame. That's what they pay us to do, you know." Patrick Larson singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 9th, singled in the 10th and doubled in the 12th. Larson is batting .301 with 0 home runs and 16 RBIs this season. |
