Colón and Griffin Swapped Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 It won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Portland Philospher Kings and Vista Panthers finalized a trade today. Portland will send 25-year-old LHP Rob Greene and 23-year-old minor league 2B Armando Colón to the Panthers, while the Philospher Kings will receive 29-year-old RHP Steve Griffin. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," said the Philospher Kings general manager). The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players to join their new ball clubs by the end of the day. So far this season, Griffin has put up these stats: 40 relief appearances, 18 saves, 44.1 IP, 35 strikeouts, and 2.44 ERA.
