Guzmán, Menéndez Swap Teams Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 The Portland Philospher Kings have made a deal sending 29-year-old RHP Jean Burrows, 28-year-old RHP Jorge Hernández, 25-year-old minor league LF Lorenzo Guzmán and 24-year-old minor league LF Juan Vareas to the Chicago Machine for 25-year-old LHP Valentín Reséndez and 25-year-old RHP César Menéndez. Both sides are said to be pleased with the way the trade worked out. Menéndez has compiled an ERA of 2.19 so far this season, winning 3 games with 3 losses and 2 saves. In 49 relief appearances he has hurled 61.2 innings, yielded 45 hits and struck out 62. Opposing hitters have batted .208 against Menéndez. |
