300 Home Runs for Padilla
Friday, July 12th, 2024
It was a historic day for Austin's fine right fielder Luis Padilla. He slammed home run number 300 in the River Sharks 11-10 loss to the Toronto Titans at Mythology Coliseum.

He told reporters after the game, that he was disappointed in losing the game. "It's great to get that many homers, but I don't play for homers -- I play to win. That's the name of the game."

In his milestone-making game Padilla went 1 for 5, scored 1 run and collected 2 runs batted in. That home run put him in a select group of ballplayers.

Padilla has a career .289 average with 1849 hits, including 290 doubles, 14 triples and 300 homers, collected 1046 RBIs, scored 1121 runs and compiled a .390 OBP.
