Torres Is CL's Best Rookie Tuesday, November 12th, 2024 In his first season, Carlos Torres not only won the hearts and cheers of the local Greenville fans, he also nabbed the Continental League Rookie of the Year Award. This gifted center fielder compiled a .301 batting average while collecting 16 home runs and 76 RBIs with a .407 on-base percentage and scoring 113 runs. Mike Hill of the St. Louis Browns finished second in voting, while Calvin Bennett of the Springfield Stars finished third. |
