Beavers Win League Championship Friday, October 25th, 2024 The sweet swing of Tony Morton has led his team through the League Championship. The Baffin Island Beavers star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Niagara Falls Frenzy to advance to the BSA Championship. The Beavers won the final game at Beaver Dam by a score of 6-0 and the series 4-1. "I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Morton. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs." For the series, Morton hit .429 with a .429 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Baffin Island Beavers will play against the St Charles Sheens in the next round. St Charles won their series against the St. Louis Browns 4 games to 1. The BSA Championship schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes. |
