Martínez Shuts out Pikes Saturday, September 14th, 2024 In an outstanding outing, José Martínez tamed Seattle on a 2-hit shutout. The Austin hurler went the distance, finishing with 7 strikeouts and no walks in the 6-0 win. "He had a lot of first pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to the Seattle manager. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today." This year Martínez has made 32 starts, thrown 188 innings, fanned 168 batters and walked 47. His won-lost record is 9-8 with a 4.16 ERA. |
