McDonald on Fire, 5-for-6 Against Portland
Wednesday, September 11th, 2024
It seemed that Madison first baseman Michael McDonald could do no wrong as the Bombers kayoed the Philospher Kings 9-7 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Portland pitchers couldn't get him out as McDonald seemed to know which pitches they were throwing. "I think the Bombers were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Portland fan. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant McDonald in the postgame press interview. Michael McDonald singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off Edgardo Guzmán in the 11th.
McDonald is hitting .264 this year with 19 home runs and 59 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .315, 27 walks and scored 59 times.
