Great Day for Yarbrough -- 5 Hits Friday, August 30th, 2024 Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Michigan & Trumbull when Clyde Yarbrough of Niagara Falls scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Greenville 84s. He walloped 5 hits in 6 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Frenzy get by the 84s 7-5. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the left fielder of the Frenzy said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-for-6. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." Clyde Yarbrough singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 10th. In his season totals Yarbrough has 6 home runs and a .354 batting average. |
