5-for-6 Game for Braun Saturday, May 13th, 2023 History in the making. That's what the fans at Classics Ballpark got to see today in the Evans HS 26-17 triumph over the Bishop Gorman HS. Vincent Braun of the Bishop Gorman HS came to the plate 6 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against the Knights. "It was a great day for me, but a disappointing one for our fans," he said to the reporters covering the game. "I wish I could have won it for them. They like stats, but they love winning." In the postgame press conference the Evans HS skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink. I am just glad we escaped with a win. Braun was lethal." Vincent Braun doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this year Braun has hit .317 with 6 home runs and 26 RBIs. |
