Álvarez 5-for-5 Against Bishop Verot HS Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 Today the Maris School downed the Bishop Verot HS 10-5 as Javier Álvarez sprayed hits all over Renegades Ballpark in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The Maris School catcher said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Javier Álvarez hit a two-run home run off Mathew Wilcox in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. So far this season Álvarez has hit .400 with 4 home runs, 38 RBIs and and scored 14 times. |
