Deal Strokes 5 Hits Thursday, June 1st, 2023 Who needs batting practice? Andrew Deal of Kansas State apparently doesn't as he battered Georgia Tech with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 16-5 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?" Andrew Deal hit a solo-shot off Ben Cobb in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jon Bunch in the 5th and singled in the 7th. This year Deal has collected a .268 batting average to date with 41 hits in 153 at-bats, 37 RBIs, 8 home runs and scored 30 times. He has played in 49 games. |
