Cincinnati's Herrera Out 11 Months
Monday, May 8th, 2023
Augusto Herrera at first refused to leave today's North Carolina State-Cincinnati game after he suffered a torn rotator cuff while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Cincinnati starting pitcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Herrera out of action for 11 months.

To date this season Herrera sports a 3-2 mark with a 4.12 ERA in 8 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .250 batting average and has 54 strikeouts in 43.2 innings.
