Hits Blitz for Rockets Dixon Tuesday, September 12th, 2023 "To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple and home run in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Brian Dixon grabbed a piece of baseball history today when he hit for the cycle. Dixon went 4 for 5 with 5 runs batted in and 2 runs scored against Savannah, leading the Louisville Rockets to a 12-3 win at Dean Dome. "I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Dixon said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in." Brian Dixon flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off José Morán in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th. This year Dixon is batting .214 with 2 home runs. |
