Romero Belts 5 Hits Saturday, September 16th, 2023 It was high-5 day at Murray Bros. Memorial Park, at least for Juan Romero of the Barry's Bay Orioles. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the Bemidji Benders, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. Romero smashed 5 hits in 7 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Barry's Bay still dropped the game 14-13. His manager said, "Juan was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN writers, "Romero bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame." Juan Romero hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 10th. Currently Romero is hitting .435 and has collected no home runs, 6 RBIs and scored 5 times, while playing in 9 games. |
