Hit Streak Over, Rebels Stop Sexton Sunday, September 3rd, 2023 After 22 games, Peter Sexton had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by Wilmington at Miller Park. The Bulldogs shortstop failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats and his brief fling with fame has come to a halt. But Sexton seemed to care less -- it didn't matter as Newark took a 5-4 victory from the Rebels. Sexton didn't dwell on the streak saying, "It was good while it lasted. If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory." Looking at his stats this year, Sexton has compiled a .311 batting average, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 11 runs. He has played in 30 games and scored 35 runs. |
