Torres Takes Charge, Blanks Key West Friday, August 25th, 2023 Memphis starter Mario Torres really did a number on the Barracudas today, shutting them out 3-0 on 5 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 10 strikeouts. In his postgame comments, the Key West manager said, "We didn't have good at-bats. I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting... seeing as our team has a bunch of pretty good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Mario... he did an outstanding job today." This season to date Torres has a record of 3 wins and 10 losses with a 3.25 ERA, has appeared in 28 games and struck out 151 in 130.1 innings. |
