NWL Top Batter Trophy Won by MacKinney Thursday, June 1st, 2023 Carlos MacKinney put together a good May to earn the Northwest League Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Bismark officials that he belongs on the big league roster. The Border Guards catcher posted a .392 batting average with 6 home runs, 32 RBIs and 21 runs scored. For the year MacKinney is batting .396 with 61 hits and 7 home runs.
