San Diego's Barrera Takes Best Pitcher Prize Monday, October 16th, 2023 The votes are in for the 2023 Northwest League Outstanding Pitcher Award. It has been bestowed on Juan Barrera of the San Diego Smashers. The 26-year-old Smashers ace finished the year with a 21-4 mark, logged 28 starts, threw 173 innings, yielded 150 hits, struck out 180 and held the opposition to a .235 batting average. Rafael Blanco of the San Diego Smashers finished second in voting, while Martin Lowry of the Bismark Border Guards finished third. |
