Northwest League Picks Top Performer Monday, July 31st, 2023 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Northwest League, but last week Yasuhiko Sumita of the Menlo Maniacs reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Sumita rocked opposing pitching for a .409 average (9-for-22), 3 home runs and 10 RBIs to come away with the award. This year Sumita is batting .313 with 50 hits and 15 home runs. He has scored 29 times and has batted in 41 runs. |
